For its next talk, the Barsati team brings to you an issue that is very close to them – how can design help bring about social change. The talk will begin with community architects, Nidhi Sohane and Swati Janu sharing about their ongoing crowd-funded community project ModSkool, which is also being supported by Architecture in Development and MHS CITY LAB.
The main speaker for the event is Jan Glasmeier who has been working on community driven architecture since 2012 when he co-founded Agora architects. Based in Thailand, he has worked with marginalised groups, community based organisations, and NGOs along the Thai-Burma Border. He has been promoting the use of alternative and sustainable materials and has also raised funds for several charity projects by expanding the network of donors among the international architectural firms.
